Women move with empathy, assertiveness and as role models

Raphaela Vallon-Sattler invited to another edition of the CC-Women at the Hotel Regina. At the beginning of the event, the last respects were paid to the recently deceased former Chancellor and Club Cuvée honorary member Brigitte Bierlein and her extraordinary personality was recognized.

After the presentation of the panelists, Monika Unterholzner,Deputy General Director of Wiener Stadtwerke, apprenticeship expert Petra Pinker,Leitbetriebe Austria Managing Director Monika Rintersbacher and Maria Hötschl,Chairwoman of “We for Greencare” spoke. The focus of the discussion was on the question of what women can achieve and how they can assert themselves as managers and experts.

Petra Pinker sees the “credible example” as particularly important and stresses that a wink should always be present. Because “only with a bit of humor does life go easier, and that also applies to apprentice training.” For Monika Unterholzner, the assertiveness of women in leadership positions is “a normal management task and not something specifically female, and that applies just as much to men.” Unterholzner, who is responsible for mobility, funerals and cemeteries as well as IT and innovations at Wiener Stadtwerke, was aware that she was working in a world that was often dominated by men, “but with empathy, teamwork, goal orientation and professional competence, a lot can always be achieved.”

Monika Rintersbacher agreed with such considerations and emphasised that “being consistent and not losing sight of the goal remains crucial.” Maria Hötschl and Monika Unterholzner agreed that women should sometimes have more confidence in themselves, and that women are often more cautious when it comes to taking on a new task. Hötschl pleaded for more self-confidence. Overall, the tone of all the women on the podium was that it’s not possible, it doesn’t exist. Petra Pinker expressed this in a confident and pointed way: “The idea that I can’t do something because I’m a woman is something I don’t know.” All of these considerations were not foreign to the evening’s guests of honour, Mayor Michael Ludwig and his wife, the former banker Irmtraud Rossgatterer. Michael Ludwig saw the decisive advantage of working together successfully, particularly in mixed teams.

Katharina Baumgartnermanager of the 200 hectare Domäne Baumgartner winery, was convinced that her work in sales and presentation as a woman is definitely characterized by “acting with great assertiveness supported by a youthful charm.” This was also shown by a new orange line, which was well received at the tasting, also seen: Werber Ralf KoberManaging Director of Springer & Jakoby Austria, Volksbank Director Wolfgang LayrWien IT GF Eva SchwarzlDesigner Brigitte Justcafe+co Manager Herbert RieserLG Electronics Marketing Head Philipp BreiteneckerManner Supervisory Board Wolfgang Hötschl, Louisa BöhringerPersonal Branding, Martin DolezalSnowsport Academy, Hanni KolarikSwiss House, Mario RohracherGS GSV, Bernhard Gillybauernmakt.at and moderator Ralph Vallon.
