The first tire from Nokian Tires’ new Romanian factory – Commercial production planned to start in 2025

Nokia tires has manufactured the first tire in its factory under construction in Oradea, Romania, states the company’s press release.

According to the company, the construction project of the new factory has progressed on budget and on schedule, and commercial tire production will begin at the factory in early 2025. The foundation stone of the factory was laid in May 2023.

A 60-person team that has been trained at Nokian Tires’ Suomen factory will participate in the start-up of the factory. When the new factory reaches full capacity, it will employ around 500 people.

“To manufacture Nokian Tires’ premium tires in Romania with the same uncompromising approach as in our other factories”, says Adrian Kaczmarczykthe new factory and the director responsible for procurement, quality and occupational safety at Nokian Tires.

The production capacity of the new factory is estimated to be six million tires. The factory worth around 650 million euros can be expanded in the future as well.
