Israel | Car theft attempts have increased by 42% in the last three months

According to Pointer, the number of attempted car thefts increased by 42% in Q2 2024 compared to Q1, and by 2.2 times compared to Q4 2024.

The most popular vehicles among car thieves are SUVs and crossovers, which account for 43% of all attempted thefts, followed by passenger cars with gasoline or hybrid engines (25%), commercial vehicles (12%), two-wheelers (8%), electric vehicles (7%), trucks (4%) and construction and agricultural equipment (1%).

39% of attempted car thefts occur in the Central District, 18% in the Tel Aviv District.
