Abu Dhabi Chamber and ADEX enhance competitiveness of national exports

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement with the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, with the aim of supporting investors to increase national export rates and enhance their ability to enter and compete in global markets.

The signing of the agreement comes within the framework of the two parties’ efforts to consolidate the UAE’s position on the global trade map, enhance the leadership of national industries, and encourage companies to export and open new markets for them, in line with the Abu Dhabi government’s strategy to achieve economic diversification and sustainable development.

In the presence of Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Abu Dhabi Exports Office, and Masoud Rahma Al Masoud, Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, the agreement was signed by Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, and Khalil Fadel Al Mansouri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Exports Office, on the sidelines of a workshop hosted by the Chamber, under the title “The Role of the Abu Dhabi Exports Office in Supporting UAE Exports”, in the presence of a large number of representatives of business sectors and private companies operating in Abu Dhabi.

The workshop helped the attendees learn about the direct and indirect financing solutions, tools and services provided by the Abu Dhabi Exports Office and how to benefit from them, to enhance manufacturers’ ability to access global markets and protect them from the risk of non-payment.

Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi said: “The agreement reflects our commitment to developing and organizing commercial affairs in the emirate, our efforts to advance them, and our continuous keenness to provide an attractive investment environment and open new markets for investors and owners of small and medium enterprises. This partnership will also contribute to supporting our efforts to develop the UAE industrial sector, and support entrepreneurs and emerging national companies by offering the best financing solutions for vital projects, which will contribute to driving the national economy, enhancing national export rates and expanding their global reach.”

Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of the agreement signed with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which contributes to opening wider horizons of joint cooperation with the aim of developing the UAE industrial sectors and increasing their contribution to the country’s gross domestic product. He pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Exports Office will work through this partnership to provide financing solutions that will contribute to developing the exports of the Abu Dhabi Chamber members and achieving its strategic goals aimed at developing the private sector, supporting the competitiveness of Emirati companies and enhancing their presence on a global level, and enabling them to reach various promising international markets.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber will cooperate with the Abu Dhabi Exports Office to study the requests of investors and companies wishing to find financing solutions represented in providing financing and guarantees to external importers from foreign institutions and companies from the private sector wishing to import Emirati goods and services, which will contribute to increasing the rates of national exports and opening new markets for them.

Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate to organize training programs and joint events, including seminars, lectures, conferences, and workshops related to financing the external buyer, to enhance the competitiveness of local companies in the field of export and global expansion, and the services available to them through the Abu Dhabi Exports Office.

The two parties will be keen to unify efforts and coordinate on joint initiatives and projects concerned with entrepreneurship and export in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in addition to studying the possibility of having tools and programmes to finance national exports.
