8.8 billion dirhams revenues of Dubai hotels in 5 months

Hotel room revenues in Dubai during the first five months of 2024 amounted to about 8.76 billion dirhams, compared to 7.93 billion dirhams during the same period last year, achieving a growth of 10.5%, according to Al Khaleej analysis.

The number of nights booked in Dubai hotels reached 18.34 million nights during the period between January and May of this year, an increase of 4% compared to the same period last year. The average room revenue reached 478 dirhams, while the average room price reached 563 dirhams, according to data from the Department of Economy and Tourism.

The data also showed that the average return on hotel rooms in Dubai increased by 7% to reach AED 478, compared to AED 448 during the same period last year. This strong performance is supported by an increase in visitor flows from various global markets.

According to data from the Department of Economy and Tourism, the total accommodation capacity in Dubai hotels increased to about 150.2 thousand hotel rooms by the end of May, distributed across 822 hotels and hotel apartment facilities, compared to 148.7 thousand hotel rooms within 812 facilities at the end of May 2023, representing a growth of 1% in the number of hotel rooms.

Future performance

Dubai hotels have managed to maintain their upward trajectory across all key indicators, including revenue per available hotel room, average daily rate, number of nights booked, hotel capacity and number of hotel establishments.
