FT: The number of users of X is falling

A couple of years ago, the growth was stronger.

X:n the number of daily users is growing more slowly than before, reports the economic newspaper The Financial Times (FT).

The global number of daily active users of the social media service X, formerly Twitter, grew by only 1.6 percent in the second quarter of the year compared to a year ago. The number was 251 million users.

X’s user numbers grew stronger even a couple of years ago; for example, in 2022, the number of users increased by 16.6 percent in the second quarter of the year compared to the previous year.

Billionaire Elon Musk bought Twitter in 2022.

Competitive the social media company Meta Platforms launched a similar Threads service last year, which has quite a few users compared to the X service.

The company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg told earlier in July, that Threads has over 175 million monthly active users. X’s corresponding figure is 600 million, X has reported according to FT.
