Seoul. The Samsung workers’ union announced early Wednesday an indefinite general strike starting Thursday, after the three-day strike that began on Monday.

We declare a second indefinite general strike starting on July 10, after learning that management is not willing to talk after the first strike.the Samsung Electronics National Union said in a statement.

Hours earlier, the company had confirmed that its production had not been affected by the strike. There has been no interruptionSamsung was quoted as saying by South Korean media.

More than 5,000 union members walked off the job Monday, the organization said, as part of a fight to demand better wages and benefits.

The union has more than 30,000 members, more than a fifth of the company’s employees.
