Egypt’s annual core inflation rate fell to 26.6% in June from 27.1% in May, central bank data showed on Wednesday.
The monthly rate of change in the core consumer price index, prepared by the Central Bank, recorded 1.3% in June 2024, compared to 1.7% in the same month of the previous year and -0.8% in May 2024.
The monthly rate of change in the general urban consumer price index, announced by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics on July 10, 2024, recorded 1.6% in June 2024 compared to 2.1% in the same month of the previous year and -0.7% in May 2024. On an annual basis, the general urban inflation rate recorded 27.5% in June 2024 compared to 28.1% in May 2024.
