Ticketmaster, the company dedicated to the sale and distribution of tickets for events, confirmed that an unauthorized third party obtained information from its database, which includes banking information of clients in Mexico, the United States and Canada.

Through social media, users revealed that they received emails in which the transnational company informed about the computer incident.

We discovered unauthorized activity in a cloud database hosted by a third-party data service provider.Ticketmaster said in a communication sent to The Day.

The company added that No other unauthorized activity has occurred on that database since our investigations began. In emails sent to its customers, the company indicated that the data theft occurred between April 2, 2024, and May 18, 2024.

According to the firm, the data involved ranged from emails, phone numbers, encrypted credit card information and other personal data.

We are in the process of notifying our most relevant clients, either via email or traditional mail.the company said, although it clarified that those who were not contacted did so because it is believed that personal information was not involved.

In response to this cybersecurity breach, the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) requested a report from Ticketmaster on the scope of the problem and the measures it has taken to ensure that consumers are not affected.

We will be attentive to address any complaints that may arise due to this situation.the federal agency said.

Ticketmaster said the breached database contained personal information of some customers. It did not specify an estimated number of affected users, though.
