Egyptian Housing Minister Follows Up on Ras El Hekma Projects

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, visited the new city of Ras El-Hikma on Thursday morning to follow up on preparations for the start of implementation of various development and investment projects in the city. The visit was attended by the Deputy Governor of Matrouh, officials from the Ministries of Housing and Transport, Matrouh Governorate, the New Urban Communities Authority, and some of Matrouh’s mayors and sheikhs.

The Ministry of Housing said that Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny and his companions toured Ras El-Hikma city and discussed with officials from the Ministry of Transport and Matrouh Governorate the status of handing over alternative plots of land to the owners of current presence on the city’s land, according to what the inventory committees revealed and what was agreed upon with the residents during the past period, and the status of implementing road works (forming) and utility works, stressing the need to expedite the implementation of the necessary works to start implementing the projects.

During the inspection tour, the Minister of Housing stressed that Ras El Hekma City is a continuation of the Egyptian state’s efforts to develop and grow the lands of the northwest coast, and to place it on the world tourism map, and an extension of the great success of the New Alamein City.

He explained that these development projects will achieve a major breakthrough for the people of these areas, and open new horizons for development and investment projects, in addition to providing thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities.
