Nokia won a significant contract in Brazil

The value of similar contracts is typically hundreds of millions of euros.

Network devices manufacturer Nokia announced on Monday that it had won a significant contract in Brazil. Nokia is expanding the fifth generation mobile phone network of telecom operator TIM in Brazil.

The companies do not say the value of the contract, but typically the value of this type of contract is hundreds of millions of euros. Nokia sells radio network products to TIM that use Reefshark system chips.

“This agreement is a significant milestone in our long-term partnership with Nokia and highlights our mutual commitment to technological innovation,” says TIM’s Brazil CTO Mark DiCostanzo in the bulletin.

Nokian director of mobile networks Tommi Uitto is excited about the agreement.

“The collaboration demonstrates our dedication to providing cutting-edge technology that enables TIM to offer the fastest and most reliable 5g connection to its customers. Our best-in-class, energy-efficient radio solutions are key to achieving this goal,” says Uitto in the press release.
