New Jerusalem tunnels open to traffic towards Maale Adumim and the Dead Sea

On Tuesday, August 20, new tunnels on the Yigael Yadin Highway (Route 1) in Jerusalem in the direction of Maale Adumim and from Maale Adumim were opened to traffic.

The new tunnels are part of the mixed-level interchange on French Hill (Giva Tsarfatit), the first part of which – the tunnels in the direction of Pisgat Ze’ev – was opened back in 2023.

In total, we are talking about four tunnels with a total length of 4.4 kilometers at a depth of up to 40 meters.

The new tunnels make it possible to avoid traffic lights when traveling towards Maale Adumim, the Dead Sea and the Binyamin region.
