Beinleumi did not accept Sergey Adonyev’s payment to the lawyer representing him in the lawsuit against Leumi

Bank Beinleumi rejected a 100,000 shekel transfer made by businessman Sergei Adoniev to his lawyer Shmuel Kasuto due to US sanctions.

Adonyev, who was among the 200 richest people in Russia before the war, has had Israeli citizenship and residential property in Herzliya Pituach since 2018.

In 2023, he and his sons were sanctioned by the United States under the Magnitsky Act. At the time of the sanctions, he had NIS 2.5 million in his Bank Leumi account, and Kasuto represented him in a lawsuit against Leumi demanding that these assets be unfrozen.

On Sunday, September 8, Kasuto filed a lawsuit against Bank Leumi, demanding that the bank clear the transaction from Bank Leumi so that he could receive his due fee.
