Marseille: Influencer Maeva Ghennam to file complaint after attack on her home, targeted by gunfire

The day after the attack on her home, the reality TV star is fighting back. Maeva Ghennam is going to file a complaint after her property located in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) was targeted by gunshots and an attempted arson attack on the night of Sunday to Monday, Le Parisien learned from the lawyer of the 27-year-old influencer. The city’s prosecutor’s office had opened an investigation for “violence with a weapon and destruction by incendiary means”.

Two people had broken into her home in the 11th arrondissement of the Phocaean city, shooting twice at the front door, leaving behind two “12-gauge” shell casings. “Incendiary devices” were thrown, causing a fire to start, before firefighters quickly managed to contain the flames. “I’m not afraid of you, you have no principles,” the star reacted on the Snapchat network Monday morning.

Two individuals entered the property

Two individuals had already broken into the same place earlier on Sunday, according to CCTV footage, but it is not possible at this stage to know if it was the same duo as the one in the night attack. The criminal brigade of the judicial police is in charge of the investigations, the Marseille prosecutor’s office said.

The reality TV star, who became known in particular for the W 9 program “Les Marseillais”, is not the only celebrity to have been confronted with violence against her home. Greg Yega, star of the same show, was the victim of a hold-up in a hair salon in the 11th arrondissement of the Phocaean city in January. Customers were held at gunpoint and personal belongings were stolen.

In February, influencer Just Riadh was attacked at his parents’ home in Seine-et-Marne by criminals who threatened him with a knife before stealing money and designer watches. The following month, influencer Capucine Anav reported being the victim of a burglary.

Before that, the year 2023 had even been a black year, marked by several burglaries of star properties in Île-de-France in particular, including that of the host Bruno Guillon, the singer Vitaa and the chef Cyril Lignac.
