The island of Ischia is preparing to host the first edition of the Ischia Noir Festival, a major cultural event that will celebrate noir literature and thrillers.r from 2 to 4 August 2024. The festival, designed for fans of the genre and for all those who wish to immerse themselves in mysterious and fascinating atmospheres, will see the participation of nationally renowned authors, experts in the sector, and lovers of reading.
The Ischia Noir Festival aims to offer a unique experience, combining the intriguing world of noir with the natural and historical beauty of the island. The scheduled events will include book presentations, meetings with authors, round tables, creative workshops for children and role-playing games inspired by Agatha Christie’s novels.
Among the expected guests, prestigious names stand out such as Gaspare Grammatico author of master of Sicilian noir, Chiara Ingrosso crime journalist and author of the novel “Nora’s Rule”, Angel Petrellaauthor of the fiction “Mare Fuori”, Alessandro Maurizi police inspector and author of “Invisibili di San Zeno”, who will share with the public the secrets of their narrative art and discuss the latest trends in the noir genre. Fans will have the opportunity to participate in autograph sessions and interact directly with the writers, creating a stimulating and engaging dialogue.
The festival will not only be an opportunity for adults, but will also offer activities designed for the younger ones, such as writing and reading workshops dedicated to children, to introduce them to the world of noir literature in a fun and educational way.
A musical moment is planned by the singer Francesca Curti Giardina and scenic readings by Andrea de Goyzueta accompanied by the violin of the musician Arcangelo Michele Caso.
“The goal of the Ischia Noir Festival is to become a point of reference for lovers of the genre and for all those who wish to discover the charm of noir in a unique and fascinating context such as that of our island,” said artistic director Cristina Marra and Maurizio Ponticello, journalist and writer of many noir novels. “We are excited to inaugurate this first edition and hope that it can grow and become an unmissable annual event.”
The Ischia Noir Festival is organized by the Ischiamia Cultural Association with the support of the Municipality of Ischia and its DMO.
