The flamenco dancer Antonio Canales announces his retirement in 2025 after a final tour

The Sevillian dancer Antonio Canales announced this Friday that the show that will premiere in 2025 will be the last of his career, at the age of 62, after more than 40 years touring stages around the world.

In an interview on 7TV recorded on National Dance Award in 1995 and Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2020, he has said that, although he has not yet discussed it with his family or his representative, he has decided to “prepare for next year the farewell”, with a tour that will be called ‘End of the party’.

He said it would be “a see you soon, happy, without any traumas,” joking that it would not be like the farewell to Miguel Ríos, “coming and going.” “If I leave, I won’t come back,” he said.

Once the tour, which will last more than a year, is over, he has indicated that he will write, give lectures or go “on some television shows,” but he will not perform on stage again.
