Series: The loneliness of someone who doesn’t like “The Bear”

Everyone loves this show, which just won eleven Emmys. But what if you found the first episode so awful that you didn’t want to watch any more?

There is a special kind of loneliness that combines sadness with nagging questions. A wrong-way driver might know it, thinking he is completely alone on the right side while the whole world is coming towards him. That is the feeling that comes over you if you currently don’t like “The Bear”, the universally praised and loved series that just won awards in eleven categories at the Emmys, whose third season some people don’t think is quite as good as what they hear from friends and acquaintances, on the radio and in snippets of conversation on the street, but the first two seasons are collectively regarded as so outstanding that this does not diminish the love for the work as a whole. Generously, the weakness of the third season is considered to be just an oversight.
