Astonishing survey: One in four people asks the stars about their travel destination

Hannover – Aquarius to Portugal? Or maybe Norway? Aries to Styria? And Virgo to the Ballermann in Mallorca?

Choosing a travel destination based on your star sign sounds strange to most people, but the sun, moon and stars are important for around a quarter of Germans when planning their trip. This was the result of a representative online survey by the travel group TUI with 2,000 participants.

According to the study, 29 percent of 18- to 44-year-olds checked the astrological signsto see if it’s a good time to travel.

In fact, travel astrology is now quite widespread. It is essentially about planetary lines that are supposed to show which areas of the world were strongly influenced by the individual planets at the time of the traveler’s birth. And this is supposed to be important for choosing a travel destination.

You can believe it, but you certainly don’t have to. It is certainly more likely that 69.3 percent of those surveyed look for ideas for their next vacation on social networks. The most popular platform for 21.2 percent of those surveyed is YouTube, it was said.

Further results:

– 71.1 percent of Germans travel with their immediate family. 17.8 percent also take their grandparents with them.

– 17.2 percent of Germans traveled alone – preferably to Europe (42 percent), within Germany (19.5 percent) or to Asia (10.5 percent).

– Around a quarter of Germans planning vacation in Germany. The desire for a holiday at home is greatest among people from Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. The favorite destinations: Baltic Sea (40.1 percent), North Sea (35.2 percent) and Lake Constance (21.8 percent).
