The creator of the Los Hermanos Rincón group has passed away

Valentín Rincón, creator of the group Los Hermanos Rincón and a prominent composer of melodies for children, passed away yesterday at the age of 86. The news spread on social media shocked the artistic community and those who grew up with his compositions.

Since their beginnings in 1971, when they founded Los Hermanos Rincón together with Gilda and César, Valentín became a central figure in children’s music. Throughout their career, the group produced more than 20 albums and 100 songs.

The group, which also included other family members and close collaborators, was known for its ability to combine education and entertainment through songs that captured the essence and magic of childhood.

In recent years, Valentín Rincón has expressed his concern about the artistic and cultural panorama for children in Mexico. In 2012, in a conversation with The Daycommented on the lack of state support and the need for public policies that promote children’s cultural development.

Despite the challenges, she stressed the importance of continuing to work to offer children enriching and meaningful experiences. She also addressed the impact of commercial media on children’s cultural development and criticized the predominance of consumerist and violent content.
