Advocacy, gender studies, ChatGPT, cyberstalking, downburst, overtourism, but also mangificio, forchiaio, dashi, gastronauta, grué di cacao: with over 400 neologisms and neosemie, renewed in its approach and structure, the Nuovo Devoto-Oli 2025 is released, the vocabulary of the Italian language published by Le Monnier that thus helps to understand the present and to equip oneself for future challenges. New words and new meanings are entering the scene, taken as usual from current events (cyberstalking, hypertourism, mangificio, synergic garden, oncological oblivion, touristification), from politics (differentiated autonomy, eco-activism, Houthis), from economics and finance (eurosclerosis, vertical farming, agrivoltaics), from culture and social media (prompting, Generative Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models), from television and sports (boppone, cumbia, varista, scavetto), from jargons and sayings (bestie, maranza, essere in bolla) and from new fashions and trends (dashi, reverse trade, bubble tea, fentanyl, cocoa nibs, K-pop, kombucha, pacossare, semaglutide, terraforming).

Also in this new edition, the long and in-depth work of rewriting, with renewed and clear definitions, of commonly used words that more than others are affected by the changed general sensitivity on some topics, guides the reader in understanding the meanings defined in a modern and universally understandable language to grasp the nuances of a changing society.
