The director of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), Diego Prieto Hernández, reported that the budget exercised by the institution in the period 2019-2023 amounted to just over 23,655 million pesos. Throughout the 42-minute video, Prieto Hernández, accompanied by other INAH representatives, expressed his gratitude for having been ratified in his position and for the trust placed in his management during the past six-year term. Prieto Hernández explained that this megaproject has allowed INAH to implement innovative methodologies that use cutting-edge technologies, such as LiDAR flights, geomatics, georeferencing and three-dimensional image reconstruction.

In addition to technological advances, he spoke of the institute’s efforts in the defense, protection and recovery of cultural heritage. During his administration, he said, the recovery of more than 14 thousand cultural assets was achieved, an amount that he considered historic.

The official highlighted that in the new administration, the federal Secretary of Culture, Claudia Curiel, has particular interest in promoting community museums.
