Has the post-feminist age of literature begun?

Today, as a man, when you move into areas where ambitious literature is being written, you sometimes have the feeling that you have made a mistake in the door. The publishers are women, the editors are women, the authors are women and especially the readers. The latest surveys by the German Book Trade Association show that around fifty percent more women than men will have bought at least one book in 2023. If you exclude the non-fiction book and only look at the fiction, the difference would probably be significantly greater. This is a dramatic change that has actually only fully taken place in the last five or six years. And it also has some dramatic consequences for the way in which literary texts are spoken and thought today, which topics are discussed, which books are elevated to the pedestal and which are quietly put aside.
