“I will carry the Pope’s words in my heart for the Buchmesse adventure”

“I am very grateful for the private audience that Pope Francis wanted to grant me at the Apostolic Palace. I took the opportunity to talk to him about the adventure of Italy as Guest of Honor at the Buchmesse in Frankfurt which happens in the same year as his ‘Letter on the role of literature in education”. This is what Mauro Mazza, Extraordinary Government Commissioner at the Frankfurt Book Fair, wrote on Instagram after the private audience with the Pontiff.

And he further writes: “The Holy Father appreciated the image of the girl on the calla lily created for us by Lorenzo Mattotti and greatly appreciated the motto ‘Roots in the future’, finding it similar to many speeches and documents of his magisterium”.

“It was nice, in a private moment, to be encouraged by one of the greatest moral authorities of our time. I will carry Pope Francis’ words in my heart so that such an important project for Italian culture may bear good and lasting fruit”
