The BBC is making a sequel to the classic Pride and Prejudice

BBC:n TV series that appeared in 1995 Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice -novel (Pride and Prejudice, 1813) is the cornerstone of British TV drama.

Now the BBC returns to the story of the Bennet sisters. There is a series about Mary Bennet in the works, Pride and Prejudice of the main character Elizabeth Bennet (Jennifer Ahle) about a sister who is overshadowed by Elizabeth.

Variety tells about it.

Series based on Janice Hedlow’n to the novel The Other Bennet Sister from 2020. Before writing his debut novel, Hedlow worked in management positions at the BBC.

Series produced by the Bad Wolf company, which has also made it very popular Doctor Who series.

Marya is described in the introduction of the new series as an unusual protagonist of the period drama. “He’s clumsy, restless, preachy and snotty, and a lousy singer.” Mary’s future looks bleak until she decides to do something about it herself.

There is no information yet about the actors of the series or the release schedule.
