Urtasun chairs for the first time the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Teatro Real on the 27th anniversary of its reopening

The Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun chaired for the first time this Friday the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Teatro Real, which this October 11 marks 27 years since its reopening.

The Theater is an institutional example of good collaboration with all administrations; with brilliant artistic programming and efficient management“, indicated the minister, who has focused on three of the most relevant projects of the Theatre: sustainability, internationalization and dissemination, according to a statement.

In that sense, Urtasun has assured that it is “important to bring Culture closer to all parts of Spain” and that it can not only be “the heritage of the great capitals”, but must reach all corners of the country. Besides, He has also referred to the Opera Week, and to the dissemination work broadcasting the opera to many places in Spain.

For his part, the president of the Teatro Real, Gregorio Marañónhas announced that on December 17 a joint patronage meeting with the Liceu of Barcelona will be held in Madrid, the fourth held by both institutions, coinciding with the performances of the opera Maria Stuarda, which both theaters co-produce, together with the Donizetti Opera Festival of Bergamo, and whose premiere will take place at the Teatro Real on Saturday, December 14.
