Miss France 2025: the candidates’ preparation trip will take place in Ivory Coast

Miss France is the end of the first half… and the beginning of the second until the final whistle of the big show which will be held on December 14, live on TF1 and from Futuroscope near Poitiers (Vienna). The thirtieth and last regional representative, Miss Picardie, will be crowned this Sunday October 20 in Beauvais, after the penultimate, Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, this Saturday evening in Liévin.

For the lucky ones, a first crown, the end of a marathon of local elections, and the beginning of another. The real one. Cruelty of an election: we only ever remember one queen, Miss France. But a superb consolation prize in advance: all the young women will refine their competitive basics, by learning the parade, in particular, in a new destination, the Ivory Coast.

An immersion in local culture on the edge of the Atlantic

This is the first time in the history of the competition that this trip, which also serves to produce beautiful images broadcast on election night, has taken place in Africa. A strong gesture in a country which experienced an ultra-violent civil war in the early 2000s, and which many in France also know through its football team, the Elephants, winners of the last African Cup of Nations. And, of course, by its musicians, from Alpha Blondy to Tiken Jah Fakoly.

This year, the jump is even bigger. Obviously for the misses, there is no question of delving into the mysteries of Ivorian politics, but already a way of learning to represent France. On the program, an immersion in local culture on the shores of the Atlantic and natural landscapes, an introduction to gastronomy and cultural and sporting activities.

Generational gap

This trip, which is a bit like a summer camp for elegant ladies, is also an opportunity to learn — more or less well — how to live together. Which is not so obvious with a generational gap: for four years, there has been no age limit for presenting oneself, and Angélique Angarni-Filopon, Miss Martinique, at 34 years old, is the oldest of all the history of the pageant and the first beauty queen to exceed the age of thirty. Which, in a room or a table with certain 18-year-old candidates, shakes up habits. Six elected officials are aged 26 to 34, whereas until recently 25 remained the age limit.

The participants will be accompanied by Miss France 2024, Ève Gilles. Last year, she, a maths student, had a whole group of classmates revise for the general knowledge test. Teachers of posture and parade on a catwalk in high heels will also be there.

Upon returning from this trip, the 30 regional Misses will join the Futuroscope park to prepare for the final sprint before the big evening Miss France 2025, presented by the irremovable Jean-Pierre Foucault, 77 years old next month, on December 14, from the Futuroscope Arena. No age limit either for the program’s favorite presenter.
