Autopsy provides initial results on Liam Payne’s death

British singer Liam Payne falls from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires died of polytrauma and bleeding. This is what the autopsy revealed, the responsible public prosecutor’s office said.

Payne died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in the Palermo district, police said. According to Crescenti, rescue workers rushed to the hotel after receiving an emergency call at 5:04 p.m. local time. They arrived there seven minutes after the call and “discovered the death of the man, who we later learned was a singer.”

Police said the call reported an “aggressive male.”who “could be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.” Payne fell “about 13 or 14 meters.” and apparently suffered a fractured skull base, Crescenti said.

Born on August 29, 1993, Payne had spoken openly in recent years about his struggles with alcoholism and celebrity. In an interview with the British “Guardian” in 2019, he explicitly spoke about problems with his mental health.

Last year he said he was working on a second solo album and released a single in March. According to Billboard magazine, Payne attended a concert by his former bandmate Niall Horan in Buenos Aires on October 2nd.

Eyewitnesses reported that it appeared as if Payne had been under the influence of narcotics in the minutes before his death. The media quoted an alleged emergency call from a hotel employee, who expressed similar fears.

In his last video, which Payne apparently uploaded to Snapchat a few days ago, he appears tidy. “Good morning everyone. A beautiful morning here in Argentina,” says the singer into the camera. The picture then pans over a long table and you can see his girlfriend, the US influencer Kate Cassidy. They joke about sleeping in too long. Cassidy was apparently no longer with Payne. As per her social media accounts, she traveled back to the US a few days ago.

According to media reports, the singer’s body was taken to a morgue. The police investigated the hotel.
