Modern and contemporary age’ directed by Isabella Valente. On October 25th the conference will move to the Federico II University.

As stated in a note from the conference: “In 2014 the exhibition ‘Il Bello e il Vero’ opened an important path for the study of sculpture in Naples from the second half of the nineteenth century to 1929. In the past decade these impulses have stimulated new paths of investigation and nineteenth-century sculpture has finally abandoned that marginal space to which it had long been relegated”.

“Today we feel the need – we read again – to start a reflection on the current state of studies, broadening the perspective to the national context and encouraging dialogue and the exchange of skills in order to outline new paths to follow”.
