The film director Roman Polanski has avoided being tried for an alleged sexual assault on a minor in 1973, after reach an agreement with the victim according to the French media ‘TF1’.
The civil suit, filed last year, claims Polanski took a teenage girl to dinner at a restaurant in Los Angeles in 1973.. The victim alleged that Polanski gave her tequila and, when she began to feel dizzy, the filmmaker took her to his house where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
“She told him: ‘Please don’t do this’“said the plaintiff’s lawyer Gloria Allred, according to the aforementioned media, stating that The alleged assault caused the minor “tremendous physical and emotional pain and suffering.”
However, Allred confirmed that the case had been formally dismissed after a settlement was reached between the parties. The lawsuit, which sought damages, was filed in June 2023, just before a California law allowing an extended deadline to file claims against alleged perpetrators of sex crimes expired.
