American producer Metro Boomin accused of rape and sexual assault

New #MeToo shocks in the music industry. After P. Diddy, accused of sexual assault by hundreds of victims, rap producer Metro Boomin is in turn targeted by a complaint for rape and sexual assault, reports the media Variety.

Vanessa LeMaistre filed a complaint this Tuesday with the Los Angeles court. She accuses the American artist of having raped her in September 2016 in California. After “several discussions about music and life in general,” she says she felt confident, to the point of going to the recording studio of Leland Tyler Wayne, his real name, details the Washington Post.

The complainant stated that she was given an alcoholic drink upon her arrival in the studio. She also allegedly ingested Xanax, an antidepressant that was prescribed to her after the death of her nine-month-old son that same year. She claims to have lost consciousness and woke up in a bed, being raped by the 31-year-old producer.

Semi-conscious state

According to the file, Vanessa LeMaistre indicated that she was in a semi-conscious state, experiencing several discomforts while Metro Boomin continued to rape her. She said she was unable to give consent, being “completely unable to move or make a sound” at the time. Several weeks later, she said she learned that she was pregnant, and decided to abort. She claims to have had no other sexual intercourse during the period, therefore attributing her pregnancy to the rape she allegedly suffered.

Vanessa LeMaistre adds that the producer from Missouri would mention the facts in question in his title Rap Saved Me, in collaboration with rappers 21 Savage, Offset and Quavo. “She took a Xanny, then she passed out. I’m from the gutter, I can’t change. From the gutter, rap saved me. She drives me crazy, make me a baby,” they sing in this joint song.

Letro Boomin’s lawyer, Me Lawrence Hinkle, described this complaint as “pure fraud”, assuring the Washington Post that the artist “will file a complaint for malicious prosecution once he has won” this trial.

An essential figure in the American music industry, Metro Boomin first became known thanks to his collaborations with rap stars like Future, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage. Famous for his dark, hard-hitting instrumentals, as well as his signature sound “ If Young Metro don’t trust you, I’m gon’shoot you », he produced several hits which marked the last decade.
