All’International Art Exhibition espouses the painter Stefania Fois

‘I represented a woman absorbed in her thoughts, in control of herself, next to a flamingo, a symbol of freedom and a reminder of my land, Sardinia’

‘The beautiful legs 1’ (mixed media on handmade paper 60X80 cm) is the title of the work by the painter Stefania Fois chosen by the Barcelona Biennial for the ‘International art exhibition’ at the European Museum of Modern Art. A collective exhibition promoted by the Effetto Arte Foundation and curated by the critic and art historian Sandro Serradifalco and with the scientific consultancy of Professor Leonarda Zappulla.

“For this prestigious exhibition I wanted to propose a revisited version with a lighter technique of a work created in the eighties – explains Stefania Fois – it represents an intimate moment of a woman. She is sitting and completely relaxed, at ease, absorbed in her thoughts and surrounded by beauty. The flamingo is in the imagination a symbol of freedom and a reminder of my land, Sardinia. It is the idea of a woman who is in control of herself”.

A particular painting for Fois who typically represents interior landscapes in her works. Its exhibitions give moments of incredible serenity. The oil canvases, watercolors and mixed techniques draw scenarios that are even deserted, but timidly alive. They are visions with a concentration of colors that metaphorically distance the viewer from chaos, letting him draw from the source of a non-place or a harmonious location. The intent is to tell the story of existence, a regenerative process that art gives to the public. Stefania Fois is working today on the preparation of her new catalogue, ‘FOISs Artist’.
