The Studio Theater School Juan Codina has announced the “permanent” suspension of Juan Antonio Codina in any of his areas within the entity and has ceased his work as an “immediate” teacher, after being accused of rape by actress Miranda Yorch.

“Following the information that has appeared in recent days, the management team is taking measures and analyzing the situation. The first change, of an internal nature, will be the permanent suspension of Juan Antonio Codina in any of his areas within the structure and ceasing his activity as a teacher immediately.“, the theater school has stated on its Instagram profile, in a post collected by Europa Press in which it shows its “support” for the victims. “We are here to listen to you, heal, repair and help,” the entity emphasizes.

Last Saturday, November 2, the actress Miranda Yorchknown for participating in ‘Hit’ or ‘Escape’, claimed in a post on her Instagram that she had been raped by the principal of the school she had attendedwhen she was 19 years old and he was 51 years old. She studied dramatic art at the Juan Codina Studio between 1018 and 2022.

The actress describes the moment as “an incessant tremor that emerges from the depths” and that leads her to remember the moment she was raped. “A tremor that takes me to all the subsequent moments in which I was near my rapist, who was a figure of power, in a space that I assumed was safe. And you are made to believe that it was with consent“, he writes in his message.

Yorch remembers that The rape occurred in a “tiny” bathroom at the school and her attacker offered her cocaine. An event in which she came face to face with violence “and with impunity, ignorance, silence and normalization of what happened” even by herself. “Hoping that what happened was not what really happened,” he points out.

“Even though your body warns you, and vomits and you retch, even though you sink into a bed, and apathy emerges. Even though your entire system crashes and warns you that something is wrong, that this is no longer your place and it is not a safe place.”he says, before confessing that he tried to “reconcile” with all that.

Yorch assures that he did not want to keep quiet and silence that tremor. “The most absolute truths are revealed to me: I am not alone, I do not have to remain silent or be afraid or ashamed. I can tell this and not feel guilty. “I am sure that the man in question will have his own account of what happened, but I am also sure that he does not tremble.”he remarked.

In this sense, he has criticized that his attacker “bragged about it” on stage and “whitewashed” what happened before a public “that was unaware of the reality of the events.” “Maybe it’s time for you to start trembling, if you have an ounce of humanity left.
