Register|Both living and dead authors are included. The list includes e.g. JRR Tolkien and Annie Ernaux.
From the crowd authors and translators have been left without compensation and now they are announced to be applied for. In several cases, Syypää is already the holder of the rights of the late author.
Sanasto, the literary copyright organization, is published the list on its website of authors and translators who have accrued copyright compensation, but who have not registered as compensation recipients.
Compensations has accumulated, according to the Glossary, from the use of literature on radio and television, from its public presentation or library, archive and museum use. However, library use is not about loan reimbursements, but, for example, digitization projects.
There is always one work from different authors mentioned in the list, but there may be several works in their name whose compensations have not been accounted for.
Monet names on the list are foreign. The list includes e.g. Rutger Bregmanin a hit encyclopedia A history of good, Amanda Gormanin runoteos The hill we climb, Bob Dylan’s Memoirs, Annie Ernauxin Years and Ta-Nehisi Coatesin Water Dancer.
The list also includes classic works by many authors who are already dead, such as Elsa Beskowin Sun egg, Jorge Luis Borgesin Garden of Forking Paths mixed by JRR Tolkien The Lord of the Rings. Also David Foster Wallacen Infinitive Riemu can be found in the list.
Many Finnish deceased authors have also not applied for compensation, for example Here’s When. Translations, for example Tuula Taanilan Finnish translation Astrid Lindgren Ronja, about the robber’s daughter has been left without compensation.
There are also some living Finnish authors.
Sanasto says that it tries to reach all authors or their representatives, but it has not been successful for all of them.
