‘We talk about what will be done tomorrow, there is no vision. I see a unique thought around and if some enlightened visionary who dreams of something in the next ten to twenty years is taken for a madman… This book aims to be a hope and give indications for the future, not only of Ischia but also of Italy”. The shipowner Salvatore Lauro, born in 1951, a native of Ischia, former senator of the Republic with Fi, thus presents his book dedicated to his native island, ‘The sea inside. From the sweet life to the perfect storm’ (Rubettino edition with preface by Edward Luttwak), to whom he entrusted biographical anecdotes, mixing them with a political and social analysis of the present and the future. The former parliamentarian (who joined the blue movement in ’96, was re-elected in 2001 with the House of Freedoms, joined the Mixed Party in 2004 and remained there until 2006) reconstructing the history of Ischia and the entire country, starting from the Sixties, from the great hope of the economic boom to the present day.
