Beth, Queen Camilla’s Jack Russell dog, has passed away 13 years after she was adopted into the British royal family.
In a touching post on Buckingham Palace’s Instagram page, tributes were paid to the beloved and loyal dog, who was adopted in 2011, alongside a photo session of Beth over the years with Camilla and her husband King Charles.
“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Beth, the Queen’s beloved companion, who brought so much joy – whether on walks, helping with official duties, or curling up by the fire,” the post read.
In the photos, you can see the 77-year-old queen taking pastoral walks with her outside – and once even helping her in one of her royal duties, when she revealed a sign with her teeth, at the “Baratsi” dog and cat home in 2020.
It turns out that Beth had a cancerous tumor that could no longer be treated and saved, and at the end of the week she was euthanized and passed away.
Camila is a known dog lover and over the years she works a lot to save them. She included her pooches in official royal portraits, and even at her and King Charles’ 2023 Queen’s Ceremony, she embroidered a doodle of her beloved pups, designed by designer Bruce Oldfield.
