He speaks of them as if they were members of his family. Frédéric Vicaux, commander of the Paris criminal brigade, and Anne, his partner, an art historian, entered Éric Mercier’s life a few years ago. The septuagenarian from Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne) knows them well, “they have ups and downs, like all couples”, and when he describes them, his eyes shine.
The duo lives with him… but only clutters his mind. He is the recurring pair in his detective novels. Éric Mercier takes pleasure in “making it evolve”, “bringing it to life”, through plots tied up around the world of art. The writer will present his new book, “The Secret of Van Gogh” published in March by Editions de La Martinière, this weekend of November 16 and 17, in Noir sur Ormesson (Val-de-Marne).
