Culture’s Finland awards to Tiina Lym and Pajtim Statovci, among others

There are a total of eight awardees this year.

Eight artist and activist will receive this year’s Finland award for culture. The awardees are the author I agree Statovcisculptor and jewelry artist Björn Weckströmdirector Tiina Lymia writer Siri Coluvisual artist Outi Dogsconductor Dalia Stasevskacurator Maaretta Jaukkuri and theater Sirkus Suosalo.

Tiina Lymi has been featured recently, especially popular Myrskyluoto Maija with the movie. Lymi has written and directed Anni Blomqvist the film based on the novel series, which premiered in January.

Statovci’s first three novels have been translated into a total of 17 languages. His fourth novel A cow gives birth at night is this year nominated for the Finlandia prize for fiction.

Stasevska is one of the well-known conductors in the world. Currently, he is the chief conductor of Sinfonia Lahti and the artistic director of the International Sibelius Festival. He is also a principal guest with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Born in Kyiv, Stasevska actively collects humanitarian aid for the victims of the war in Ukraine.

The Minister of Science and Culture decided on the awards Sari Multala (kok) says he wants to respect art and culture professionals whose work is characterized by perseverance and courage.

“With their work and works, they have increased polyphony, helped others to succeed, and created new ways to make art and cultural heritage available and accessible both nationally and internationally,” the minister says in the press release.

Finland award is 14,250 euros, and the prize has been awarded since 1993.

In addition to the actual Finland awards, this year the Finnish Museum of Glass will receive an honorary certificate.
