The architecture studio Mesura will be responsible for the design of the ARCOmadrid 2025 Guest Lounge, which will be held from March 5 to 9 at Ifema Madrid, after the jury’s decision. Their project is based on an interpretation of the symbolic elements of the Amazon rainforest to build a “creative and balanced” narrative, explains the fair.
Precisely, the call launched by ARCO, together with the Forum of Renowned Spanish Brands (FMRE) and AD magazine, established as the theme for this edition, ‘Wametisé: ideas for an amazofuturism’.
The winning project of the Catalan studio, ‘A new landscape – From the public to the intimate’, combines the philosophy and theme of the fair with the function of serving as a rest, meeting and gastronomic area in ARCOmadrid.
Furthermore, in the configuration of spaces, he analyzes how open and closed environments affect the perception of security and comfort, while open spaces can feel “exposed and chaotic”, small spaces generate greater “intimacy and trust.”
Mesura has also given importance to the sustainability of the space, which is why it has used recyclable materials and removable solutions to minimize the environmental impact.
