The Forqué Awards renew the award on its 30th Anniversary to facilitate its collection at the ceremony

The Forqué Awards have announced the redesign of the trophy, by sculptor Víctor Ochoa, with the aim of facilitating its collection during the award ceremony of its 30th edition, which will be held on December 14 at the Municipal Palace – IFEMA Madrid.

The new design of the award, according to the sculptor, makes it “light and easy to grasp delicately.” “It is golden with nuances that make it matte or resplendent in front of the camera when we move it showing José María’s face,” says Ochoa.

EGEDA, the entity that organizes the awards, highlights that the new design preserves the “unmistakable” appearance with which it was conceived, despite the fact that the radius of the circumference has been reduced, as well as its weight, making it easier to carry on the go. moment of thanks.

Likewise, each trophy will be unique and personalized thanks to the engraving of the awarded work or artist directly and immediately on the base, also redesigned. Unlike the previous model, the reverse has only the name ‘FORQUÉ’ printed on it instead of ‘PREMIO CINEMATOGRAFICO JOSÉ MARÍA FORQUÉ’, since, in the words of the sculptor himself, “it is no longer necessary to explain more.”

“It was more than enough to determine the prize. And although it appears on the back, it appears with a very important impact,” says Víctor Ochoa.

NOMINEES

Of the 120 fiction films presented, four films have been nominated for Best Fiction Feature Film: ‘The Blue Star’ and ‘The Infiltrator’, with three nominations, including acting categories, followed by ‘El 47’, with two, while ‘Second Prize’ completes the list of candidates with a single nomination.

The selection of actors competing for the award for Best Male Performance is made up of Antonio de la Torre (‘The Flashes’), Eduard Fernández (‘Marco’), Mario Casas (‘Escape’) and Pepe Lorente (‘The Blue Star’ ).

Meanwhile, the candidates for the Best Female Performance Award with the most votes have been Carolina Yuste (‘The Infiltrator’), Emma Vilarasau (‘Casa en Flames’), Najwa Nimri (‘The Red Virgin’) and Patricia López Arnaiz (‘Los flashes’).

Likewise, the 30th Forqué gala will have the award for Best Documentary Feature Film, for which ‘Chaplin. Gypsy Spirit’ (Carmen Chaplin), ‘The flamenco guitar of Yerai Cortés’ (Antón Álvarez), ‘Marisol, call me Pepa’ (Blanca Torres) and ‘My brother Alí’ (Paula Palacios).

In the category for Best Cinematographic Short Film, the nominations are for ‘Betiko Gaua’ (Eneko Sagardoy), ‘Evanescente’ (Gala Gracia and Guillermo Garavito) and ‘The great work’ (Alex Lora Cercos). In addition, the Award for Best Animated Feature Film celebrates two editions as an independent award with ‘Buffalo Kids’ (Pedro Solís and Juan Jesús García ‘Galo’), ‘Guardiana de dragones – Dragonkeeper’ (Salvador Simó and Li Jianping), ‘Mariposas negra ‘ (David Baute) and ‘Rock Bottom’ (María Trenor) as finalists in this category.

SERIES

In the series section, ‘Querer’, directed by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, has emerged as the favorite production by having three nominations: for Best Female Performance (Nagore Aranburu), for Best Male Performance (Pedro Casablanc) and for Best Series fiction.

This fiction series will compete with ‘Cristobal Balenciaga’ and ‘El Caso Asunta’, both with two nominations, and ‘The Lawyers’ (1 nomination), to win the Forqué Award for Best Series.

In the case of actresses, Candela Peña (‘El Caso Asunta’), Carmen Machi (‘Celeste’), Iria del Río (‘Los Años Nuevos’) and Nagore Aranburu (‘Querer’) are the nominees for Best Female Performance , while in the men’s category Alberto San Juan (‘Cristobal Balenciaga’), Javier Cámara (‘Rapa’), Oriol Pla (‘Yo, addict’) and Pedro Casablanc (‘Querer’).

AWARD FOR FILM AND VALUES EDUCATION

On the other hand, the Forqués will vindicate their pan-Hispanic vocation with the award for the Best Latin American Film of the Year, for which the films ‘El Jockey’ (Luis Ortega), ‘El lugar de la Otra’ (Maite Alberdi), ‘ Dog Thief’ (Vinko Tomicic) and ‘Memoirs of a Burning Body’ (Antonella Sudasassi).

In the same way, the Cinema and Education in Values ​​Award award will highlight the didactic function of cinema with ‘El 47’ (Marcel Barrena), ‘La Estrella Azul’ (Javier Macipe), ‘La infiltrada’ (Arantxa Echevarría) and ‘I am Nevenka’ (Icíar Bollaín).

At the gala on December 14, the Gold Medal will also be awarded, an honorary award from EGEDA that recognizes a fundamental career in the history of Spanish audiovisual production and which in this edition will go to the producer, director, screenwriter and popularizer José Luis Garci.
