Spending on culture will increase in the reallocation of resources that the Chamber of Deputies will carry out, based, among other reasons, on the disappearance of autonomous organizations, whose budgets, in some cases, will be allocated to this area, reported President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

He justified the reduction of the cultural budget, in part, because the works that were carried out in the last administration in the Chapultepec Forest have already been completed.

When explaining the reallocation of budgets, he commented that legally the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit must send to Congress the proposals of the autonomous organizations in the terms in which they propose. However, by hinting that with their disappearance these items will have to be redirected to other areas, he stressed that one of the destinations will be the Ministry of Culture.

And what do we want to dedicate that part of the budget to in a very important way? To strengthen artistic education. As? First, to the schools of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature, which are the ones that have many lags and require a lot of support.

INAH will also benefit

Furthermore, it was a commitment that I made during the campaign and a commitment that the Secretary of Culture made particularly with students who were protesting the need for more resources.. They will be supported by improving the infrastructure of the schools and giving greater incentives to their teachers, he reiterated.

With irony, Claudia Sheinbaum said in her conference that resources will be able to yield more now because they are no longer going to travel abroad, they are no longer going to spend in clubs, they are no longer going to use their credit card for who knows what things, alluding to to the excesses committed by some of the commissioners and senior officials of the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data that were recently made known.

Sheinbaum Pardo commented that other sectors that will benefit from the reallocation of these items will be the National Institute of Anthropology and History, although in this case he did not comment on whether they would be allocated to a specific purpose.
