Haenel says of the Guardian according to which Ruggia constantly sexually harassed her during the filming of the film, when Haenel was only 12 to 15 years old. At that time, Haenel appeared in the film The Devils.
The film is about two teenagers whose sexuality is awakening. According to the Guardian, others who worked on the film have said that Ruggia behaved “inappropriately” towards Haenel on the set.
Adèle Haenel is an award-winning French actress.
At issue is one of France’s first Me too cases in the film industry that have gone all the way to court.
Ruggia has denied the charges. Search engine searches for “adele haenel hot” were found on his computer, but Ruggia has said that he doesn’t remember doing those kinds of internet searches.
Haenel announced in May 2023 that he will end his career, among other reasons, because he does not want to work in an industry that has “widespread complicity with sexual abuse and abusers”.
