“Stromberg” makes a surprising return – as a film

“Dad is coming back”: Actor Christoph Maria Herbst once again takes on the role of office creep Bernd Stromberg. A new film with the famous unpleasant character from the fictional “Capitol Insurance” is expected to be released in cinemas at the end of 2025, as the producers surprisingly announced.

In “Stromberg – The New Film” Stromberg’s old colleagues, including “Ernie” Heisterkamp (Bjarne Mädel) and Ulf Steinke (Oliver Wnuk), are also there again, as it was said.

The new film is billed as a “big reunion for everyone involved.” “And like a classic family celebration, there is a unique mix of nostalgia and alcohol, of old scores and new accusations,” says the first brief description of the content.

The plan is obviously to once again confront the anachronistic figure Stromberg with today’s working world. After its theatrical release, the film will also be shown on the streaming service Prime Video and ProSieben.

Ralf Husmann is also there again as author and producer. “Ten years after the first film, so many people still ask me about Bernd that at some point I wanted to know what happened to him in the new working world,” he is quoted as saying in a statement. “Maybe boss is like Corona: the new variants are supposedly more harmless. Just not for everyone.”

The now 58-year-old Christoph Maria Herbst once became suddenly famous as Stromberg. The comedy series by creator Ralf Husmann ran on ProSieben between 2004 and 2012. After the end, there was already a film in 2014. The model for the office satire was the British “The Office”.

To this day, the “Stromberg” universe has many fans. At that time, Autumn virtually merged with the figure, who repeatedly provoked unpleasant situations with his half-bald head and gray suits. He became a kind of prototype of the unpleasant boss.
