In a series of appearances, the PP asks the Government to explain its absence in the reopening of Notre Dame

The Popular Party has registered a series of requests for the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares and the director of the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, Manuela Villa Acosta, appear in the Congress of Deputies and provide explanations for the absence of Spain in the reopening of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, on December 7.

Specifically, in the request – to which Europa Press has had access – Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s party asks Albares to give an account of the reasons that led the Government of Spain not to attend the event, as well as the discrepancies with the Ministry of Culture regarding this decision and the measures that will be adopted to address “the deterioration of the international image” of Spain derived from this “lack of coordination” of the Executive.

Furthermore, in a question recorded at the Congress table, the popular people urge the Government to explain the reasons for the absence, as well as whether a meeting or conversation was held with Urtasun so that there were Spanish representatives during the ceremony, in addition to knowing if proposed “some representative.”

On the other hand, the PP demands to know the “coordination” of the cultural agenda between the head of the culture department and the cultural affairs directorate of the Presidency.
