‘Someone threw a drink at him’: Jamie Foxx’s birthday party ends with stitches

Jamie Foxx’s birthday party got out of hand. The American actor was injured in the face after an altercation that occurred last Friday in a restaurant in Beverly Hills, where he was celebrating his 57th birthday.

“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass at him and hit him in the mouth,” a spokesperson for the actor told CNN, adding that “some stitches” were necessary and that “he is recovering”. He also specifies that “the police were called and the matter is now in the hands of the police”.

According to a post on its social media, the Beverly Hills Police Department responded last Friday to “a possible assault with a deadly weapon reported at Mr. Chow Restaurant, located at 344 N. Camden Drive.” Jamie Foxx’s name is not mentioned in this incident which occurred around 10 p.m.

An enigmatic message

“After investigation, officers determined that the reported assault with a deadly weapon was unfounded,” authorities said, adding that “the incident instead involved a physical altercation between the parties.” No arrests were made following the intervention.

Sunday morning, Jamie Foxx posted a cryptic message on his Facebook account. “The devil is a lie. I can’t win here… Thank you to everyone who prays and checks in on me… When your light shines… they try to bring you darkness… but they don’t know you’re made for it… the lights shine (…). »

In his message, the actor also thanks “everyone who watched and was inspired by What Had Happened Was”, a stand-up show released last Tuesday on Netflix. He explains in particular that he suffered a stroke following a cerebral hemorrhage which caused him to be hospitalized for a long time in the spring of 2023. “There are 20 days that I don’t remember,” he tells his audience.
