Banksy is back (but no one knows where his new work is)

Banksy is back. And he reveals it on social media by showing one of his unpublished works, one Madonna with suffering child but no one knows where he is at the moment. For many, judging by the comments, it is a work dedicated to Gaza but there is no certainty about this either. The Madonna is represented in the act of breastfeeding the baby and the nipple is made on a rusty metal hole which appears to be a drain for water.

The style is typical of murals created in London and in the rest of the world but, given the celebrity achieved by the English artist, the hunt for the work has now begun. No indication, no clue in the post published by the artist. Just an idea of ​​what a detail of the work could be.

Many have speculated that it could be a reference to the war in the Middle East because the child appears to be suffering, almost worried about the impossibility of being breastfed. It is not the first time that the artist (whose identity still no one knows today) has experimented with religious references. Already in 2003 he had presentedToxic Marya Madonna busy breastfeeding her child from a bottle marked with the skull and crossbones symbol. In that case the work had been interpreted as a criticism of the clergy and religion understood as a sort of toxic food.

Finally, it should be remembered that in Naples, in Piazza Gerolimini, the Madonna with the gun created by Banksy, inspired according to some interpretations by the fire of Sant’Agnese to which the Church of Sant’Angese in Agone in Rome is dedicated.
