Charlie Hebdo and Crif organize a joint tribute evening ten years after the attacks

Ten years after the jihadist attacks of January 2015, Charlie Hebdo and the Crif (Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France) will organize an evening « debates and tribute » commune on January 9, indicates Crif in its newsletter. The evening organized at the Mutualité de Paris aims « rediscover the spirit of the demonstration of January 11, 2015 »which brought together nearly 4 million people across the country after the attacks, and « reaffirm a shared republican commitment to freedom of expression, against anti-Semitism and Islamism, for secularism »specifies Crif.

The attacks cost the lives of twelve people on January 7, 2015 at Charlie Hebdo, a police officer the next day in Montrouge and four people of Jewish faith in a kosher grocery store at Porte de Vincennes on January 9, the anniversary of the tribute evening. This evening is placed under the motto « we are the Republic ». Crif specifies that it will also organize, like every year, a tribute ceremony in front of the Hyper Cacher store on January 9 at noon.
