Three are charged with the manslaughter of One Direction star Liam Payne

Three a person has been charged with wrongful death in connection with a pop star Liam Paynen to death. The news agency Reuters and a British newspaper report on the matter, among others The Guardian.

Payne, 31, died on October 16 after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Payne’s friend and business partner and two hotel employees, one of whom is the hotel manager and the other a receptionist, have been charged.

According to the prosecuting judge, the trio dragged a heavily intoxicated Payne to their room and left him stranded, even though they should have taken Payne to a safe place until he received medical attention.

According to the judge, the hotel manager had seen how Payne could no longer stand without help. An autopsy revealed that Payne had consumed large amounts of cocaine and alcohol.

According to the coroner’s report, Payne did not pass out or lose consciousness before falling, but he was heavily intoxicated and tried to leave the room through the balcony.

Paynen in connection with the death, two other people have been charged with supplying drugs to Payne. One of them is a hotel employee and the other worked at a restaurant where Payne had been a customer.

According to the indictment, the defendants sold and delivered cocaine to Payne four times in three days.

The accused waitress’s lawyer has said that the accused is a One Direction fan and has admitted to using drugs with Payne, but denies selling drugs.

Those accused of manslaughter face a maximum of five years in prison. The sentence for drug dealers can be four and at most fifteen years.

Liam Payne rose to fame as a member of One Direction. The band, which operated between 2010 and 2016, was the world’s most successful boy band at the time. The members of the group have later continued their careers as solo artists. Payne’s only remaining solo album came out in 2019.
