A total of 16.1 million Spaniards followed the traditional New Year’s Eve bells on television, 916,000 more viewers than last year, when 15.2 million people followed them, and the second least watched in the ranking of the last eight years. This is reflected in a study prepared by Barlovento Comunicación on Kantar Media data, published this Monday, January 2, 2025.
This year the screen share, in the 31 channels that broadcast the bells, has reached 94.6%, 1.3% more than last year in which the average audience was the lowest since 2017,
Total television consumption was 17 million, which represents an increase of 700,000 (+5%) compared to 2023 when 16.3 million viewers were registered.
According to the average audience history of the last eight years, the minute of the chimes in 2024, between midnight and midnight, was the second least watched, only surpassed by 2023 in which the average audience was 15.1 millions of viewers.
