Film director and screenwriter Jeff Baena has died

47-year-old Baena was married to actress Aubrey Plaza.

American film director and screenwriter Jeff Brothers is dead, they say, among other things Variety and a news channel CBS. He was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on Friday. Baena was 47 years old. The cause of death has not been announced so far, the media reports.

Baena directed several indie films that were not huge box office hits, but mostly received good reviews from critics. He directs, for example, black comedies Life After Beth (2014), The Little Hours (2017) and a psychological thriller released by Netflix Horse Girl (2020).

Baena’s most famous film work is probably David O. Russellin directed comedy I Heart Huckabees (2004), which Baena co-wrote with Russell.

Brothers was married to an actress Aubrey Plaza with. Plaza is known for his many film and TV roles, for example Park Department– and The White Lotus – television series. Plaza also appeared in most of the films directed by Baena.
