The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, in a message addressed on the occasion of the award ceremony of the Laurentum Prize for poetry.
“Poetry has always embodied an authentic symbol of freedom, creativity and expressive power. Its vitality is evident even today. Especially in the current historical moment, characterized by wars and geopolitical tensions and by communication often reduced to messages fast and fleeting, initiatives like yours take on an even deeper meaning. The poem invites us to slow down, to take back our time and to reflect on the world around us. I would therefore like to congratulate the winners and urge them to never stop to contribute to intellectual progress of the country”.
